All of the YourBase values stem from Empathy and Kindness. We put people first at YourBase and we strive to treat everyone with kindness: customers, team members, and partners. We practice active listening to hear and understand people’s perspectives and treat them with respect.
Improve Developers' Lives
We build products to address real problems for developers. We aim to make developers happy by making their work lives better. We want to improve developer productivity by building easy-to-use and innovative tools that “just work” in simple yet reliable ways.
No Heroes
Burning yourself out is not a kindness to anyone. Your mental health is a finite resource, and trying to go beyond that limit is harmful for everyone. Be kind to yourself and listen to your needs.
Enable Autonomy
You should be empowered to make decisions for issues within your purview and you should be responsible for the impact of those decisions. If you find yourself in a situation where you have responsibility but you always need someone else’s approval to act, escalate the problem and work to either find a proper owner or obtain the needed authority for yourself.
Growth Mindset
Show curiosity for other people’s answers even if we have an answer ourselves. Listen intentionally.
Critically, we at YourBase seek diverse perspectives in all forms: race, class, gender, sexual orientation, cognitive, cultural background, religious background, professional field, and many more. When viewpoints differ, we aim to understand and empathize, as long as that viewpoint is consistent with our values.
Think Big, Start Small
Be bold and focused. We have bold goals, but we need to focus on achievable milestones that each deliver value to our customers. Don’t “peanut butter”: don’t spread your resources too thin to accomplish your goals.
